Pre-Thanksgiving Hike Foothills in Placitas

The Friday before Thanksgiving we take it easy by doing a 6-mile walk in the Placitas Foothills. After all we have to get back home and prepare for the festivities to come ... cooking, baking, and the dreaded housecleaning (there are times when that can no longer be ignored)
The Hoofers--Jan, Barb, Ann our leader, Judy, Bridget, Brigitte, Jennise, Bronwyn, Pat, Mary M. and Jane

Off we go

Ann leading us so we don't get lost

Bronwyn always carries a heavy pack to build up her endurance!

Zooming in on White Mesa a favorite hiking spot of the Hoofers

OK this is the most exciting thing I saw... Coyote scat... the bright fuchsia color is due to the prickly pears he ate but was
apparently  unable to digest

The second most exciting thing I saw was a beautiful rock...I know, I have been married to my Geologic-inspired husband for too long -- it has totally worn off on me.

The third most exciting thing I saw was a gentleman on horseback

A short hike, but getting out into the outdoors always appreciated
