Walking the Bosque by Tingley Beach 7/6/2018

Another hike in the mountains cancelled due to the drought.  But Betty, our leader came up with a great alternative--hiking the Bosque near Tingley Beach.  I, for one, had never been down there and the trails were great as they meander through the Bosque.  We had great shade to keep us cool and able to get out and get some exercise.

Home for someone

A large beach on the Rio Grande--with a shelter where you can order a Margarita...you won't get one there, but you CAN order one.

Well I goofed up when I did not change out my battery for my camera.....I thought about doing it but thought I didn't really need to as there were 4 bars on the battery icon....well guess what?!!
But fortunately Jean and Kathleen had my back

And for those who need to know:
Tingley Beach
is part of the Albuquerque Biological Park complex. The series of ponds, originally known as Conservancy Beach, was built during the 1930s by diverting water from the Rio Grande and later renamed in honor of Clyde Tingley. After the beach was closed to swimmers in the 1950s, it was used primarily for fishing.
