This picture was taken after the "J Team" had listened to Jean read the Forest Service rules and regulations
regarding Trail maintenance on "Pearl's Trail. " It then had to be signed
by all team members indicating that they had heard her read it. One of the bits of information in the Rules and Regs was what to do if they encountered a mountain lion.
The team then walked the trail
holding onto their required hard hats as they bent over to pick up trash or sticks.
(Jane's fell off more than once.) They also pushed small limbs off the
trail and cut back a bit of brush.
Jean then spent 2 1/2 hours writing the report and sending it off to various people; only to find out that a newer form had been developed and she should have used that instead. Additional time was spent doing that.
All this work was done with hope that the Forest Service will let us once
again adopt the trail we once had in Pearl's honor.
Jane made the following notes:
Special wild life sighted - a hawk.
Temperature on Jean's vehicle when we arrived at summit parking lot - 38.
Wind at summit - light compared to wind at Smith's parking lot at Tramway and Central.
All the Hoofers thank Jean, Jane and Jan for coming forward at this time to do the necessary trail maintenance!
Happy Trails to all
&
especially to Pearl!
