Hiking the Capulin Peak loop-with-side-trips. It's four miles on easy terrain with some great views 8/28/2015

Ginny led the Hoofers on a hike along the Capulin Peak loop trail while doing various side trips. It was four miles on easy terrain with some great views.  Once again I missed the hike as my daughter and husband returned from The Netherlands after a 5-year stint in Europe as Post Docs. And my son and his wife also came down from Colorado Springs so I was involved in a wonderful family reunion.  However thanks to Jean and Julianne, and Kathleen we have some nice pictures to post.  Looks like everyone had a great time!

The Hoofers: Front row: Sally.  Barb, Lynda, Jane, and Judy P. Back row: Julianne, Karen, Kathleen, Brigitte, Ginny, Mary, and Jennise

Same group same people, just wanted to post this because of Kathleen really getting into the posing routine!

Kathleen, Julianne & Jennise all of us were in a gorgeous grassy meadow surrounded by great logs for sitting.

What are they pointing at?

Water Break

Bird watchers gather here to watch for special varieties of birds. Old wooden water collector from Capulin Springs attracts birds. We saw this near the end of the hike.

Kathleen sent the following pictures from the hike

This group picture has Jean in lieu of Kathleen

Some giant fungi

I have no idea what this is...but I would have taken a picture of it too!
